Gender Clinic was established in 2019 by Sandstep Healthcare in collaboration with a team of dedicated medical specialists. The clinic provides treatments in the field of transgender healthcare, delivered by experienced professionals, with the aim of reducing waiting times. Gender Clinic operates within a broader network of transgender healthcare providers. Its mission is to offer care in the most appropriate setting possible.
What is Gender Dysphoria?
Gender dysphoria refers to the profound and persistent experience of a mismatch between one's assigned sex at birth and one's gender identity. A person may be born male or female but experience this differently. Gender dysphoria is often accompanied by the desire to live as a different gender, or sometimes by the wish to exist outside the traditional categories of male and female. Some individuals may feel more masculine one day and more feminine the next.
Gender dysphoria is not an illness. However, medical terminology is sometimes needed to describe the healthcare process. This means that even if you are in good health, we may still use terms like "patient" and "diagnosis" to navigate the care journey.
